You can send a User Segment in Indicative to mParticle for use within an audience. Combined with the existing mParticle-to-Indicative integration, you can have bi-directional data synchronization.
To send data to mParticle from Indicative:
- Create a user segment in Indicative.
- In mParticle, create an audience and activate it.
- In mParticle, connect the audience to an output.
- Verify your audience in Indicative.
Each step is detailed in the following sections.
Step 1. Create a user segment in Indicative
- From an Indicative funnel, click on the user count bar at the bottom of the funnel definition and select Create User Segment:
- Enter information to define your new user segment:
Save the segment. - Indicative saves the segment and creates a user attribute with a value that included the Segment name.
- Indicative shows you a list of steps to follow in mParticle.
Step 2. Create an audience in mParticle
Using the instructions launched in Indicative in the previous step, create an audience in mParticle. The instructions are repeated here:
- Go to mParticle Audiences > Real-time.
- Click New Audience.
- Enter an audience name.
- Select the audience sources (workspaces).
- Click Create.
- Click Add Criteria.
- In the dropdown menu, select Users.
- In the dropdown menu, select User Attributes.
- In the dropdown menu, select your User Segment Name.
- In the dropdown menu, change the operator to Exists.
- Click Done to confirm changes.
- Click Activate in the top-right corner to create an audience.
Step 3. Create an output in mParticle
When you are done, you can go back to Indicative and click Next Step: Connect to Output to navigate directly to the list of outputs defined for your mParticle org, or you can navigate there directly.
- In mParticle, in Audiences > Standard, click your audience to open it.
- Click the Connect tab.
- Click a listed output, or click Connect Output to select an output and configuration.
You have completed all the steps needed in mParticle.
Step 4. Verify that data is flowing
Use the method described in Verify Your Connection to ensure that data is flowing as expected.
