Aliasing is an advanced IDSync feature that controls how data collected while a user is anonymous should be handled when the user transitions from an anonymous to a known state.
You should use aliasing to transfer data from an anonymous user profile to a known profile if you want to maintain a complete history of the user’s behavior throughout their journey through your funnel.
Aliasing can only be used if your account is configured with the profile conversion or profile link identity strategies. The best match and identity isolation strategies are designed to ensure that no anonymous data is associated with known user profiles, so aliasing is not applicable in these situations.
For more information about aliasing, refer to our Aliasing documentation.
